Adoption

I cannot describe to you the feeling that you receive when you look at a child and know that they are yours.

Since I do not know any better, I believe that it's different from delivering your child. In delivery you already know the child is yours. You have been preparing yourself to bring your child home for at least 9 months. In anticipation you prepare the room, buy clothes and imagine your life with a new little one in your home, forever.

For couples in our situation (Andrew and I) its almost a discovery. You find yourself counting heads that are missing, or standing in empty rooms wondering what you're up at 4 am because something inside you told you it was time to rock the non-existent baby to sleep. You feel an urge that your child is somewhere on the Earth already and you need to find them. The search can be frustrating, it will fill your heart with emptiness when you feel you've failed in your quest. (No, I'm not crazy. Just trying in some way to describe what it's like.)

In the times that you do succeed; the healing of your heart becomes filled. So quick is the change that you can feel it in every step you take. The pain and anguish of so many years and months is suddenly transformed. You realize the suffering can be left behind and you can join in the happiness that so many couples have already received.

The spark of life gleams on a new mother who recognizes the struggle it took to find her child. For the new parents, no matter the age, when you see them, hear them, your heart recognizes the sound as clearly as if you had never been parted.

Yoga

Okay! I finally tried it! I've been running every night with my group were up to an hour and I absolutely love it!

Last night we decided to switch it up and add a little bit of Yoga into the mix. I have never tried Yoga and was a bit timid. Tiff and Kait convinced me. We did a 20 min session that used 3 pound weights. Since it was a 'total body workout' by the end I was completely sore and tired!!! But I learned that I really like Yoga too!

Anyone out there ever tried Pilates? Can you tell me about it?

Random News

Our daughter's brother needed a place to stay for the week and he came to us. Etty Bitty is not a foster child. He is 4 months old and quite the cutey! Our daughter loves helping Mommy and Daddy with him and always worries when he goes down for a nap. She calls out, "Baby? Baby?" Whenever we feed him she requests her "drink" and then sits and watches Etty Bitty while singing, "Baby ba-ba, Baby ba-ba, yummy-yum..." :)

I've been running every night over at the BYU track(after the kids are asleep)! I really enjoy it; my knee has informed me that I should only run on the flat part of the track and not on the curve! Still, it is fun exercise, I go for about an hour. My friend Tiffany is going to introduce me to Yoga/Pilates next week... I've never tried it; I have no clue what to expect!

I've been reading alot of Terry Pratchett. I enjoy having a good adult read which frequentlyhas me holding my sides from the laughter. So far all of his books have been very clean which I also appreciate in a good author.

Along with reading Terry Pratchett I decided to look up the best children/young adult books from around the world. Authors that have received awards from children and adults or who come highly recommended. I have read a variety and am thoroughly enjoying authors from Europe, America etc.

Our daughter LOVES books!

We do not yet have a job. Hopefully we'll get one soon! Rew started applying to temp jobs this week, just in case.

We are the WEBELO cub scout leaders for our stake. This is a thoroughly enjoyable calling, also very time/money(we are reimbursed) demanding. Two of our boys are just an ant crawl away from recieving the Arrow of Light (highest award in Cubs). I am so excited for them! This week we had them set up a tent and then we ate healthy snacks inside the tent. These activities qualified for parts of the Outdoorsman and Fitness awards.

Our daughter knows that actions now to: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Wise Man/Foolish Man, Book of Mormon Stories, Head Shoulders Knees and Toes and Popcorn Popping!

Hope you enjoyed the random tidbits of our lives. :0) Good Night!

I love my baby dolly

Whenever I allow my daughter to pick her own clothes, she chooses PINK! Bright Pink! One of her most favorite things to do is find all the necklaces and bracelets in the house, put them all on and then push her baby dolly through the house back and forth for hours in the little stroller.
What? you staring at me? (The day we lost the red overalls...and never saw them again!)

She loves her dolly... and her favorite movie is 'Cars'. I love how she pronounces 'car': 'KKRRRars' (With the KKRRR being a strong guttural sound like she going to spit... okay, I think it's funny!)

Google Tag

This is a Google Tag... I saw it on Ally's post decided to try a few and well... it's hilarious!

Go to Google and type in your first name and the phrase given. Copy and paste the first sentence/phrase you get that makes sense.

1. Type in "[your name] needs" in Google search
Result: "Amy needs some help drinking...apparently."
(Alright then...)

2. Type in "[your name] looks like" in Google search
Result: "Amy looks like she's about two rhinestones away from a wardrobe malfunction."
(ouch...anyone care to help me here? For reference I'm currently wearing blue Capri's and an army green t-shirt with zoo animals on it...and a towel on my head. HAHA!)

3. Type in "[your name] says" in Google search.
Result: "Amy says goodbye."
(Okay... bye!)

4. Type in "[your name] wants" in Google search
Result: "Amy wants to record in Jamaica." closely followed by "Amy wants an alcohol-free wedding!"
(Sweet! Jamaica! And I did have an alcohol-free wedding!)

5. Type in "[your name] does" in Google search
Result: "Amy does design."
(Hmm... I don't know what type.)

6. Type in "[your name] hates" in Google search
Result: "Amy hates: bamboo, mylar balloons, polyester dinner napkins, hot sauce, homemade soaps, gourds, futons and constipation."
(Wow... I cannot believe that came up!)

7. Type in "[your name] asks" in Google search
Result: "Amy asks a question."
(very original...)

8. Type in "[your name] goes" in Google search
Result:"Amy goes back onstage." closely followed by "Amy goes to Oz."
(AHHHHH!!!! NOT OZ!!!!)

9. Type in "[your name] likes " in Google search.
Result: "Amy likes Mountains."
(True.)

10. Type in "[your name] eats " in Google search
Result: "Amy eats cupcakes" followed by "Amy eats a cat treat."
(Yummy cat treat.)

11. Type in "[your name] wears " in Google search
Result: "Amy wears heart on her neck."
(sweet)

12. Type in "[your name] was arrested for" in Google Search
Result: "Amy was arrested for transporting an illegal alien in a hidden compartment."
(hmm.... interesting...)

That was fun for me! Hope you enjoyed it! I tag you, and you, and you! Try it! It's fun!

Playing Monopoly 'Milky Way' Edition

Game play commences.... after some time...
Andrew down to only 2 properties and a few dollars.
See the pile of cards next to Amy? Yes... she owns nearly all the other properties....and ALL are developed to the MAX!!!
Pay up Andrew! $950 in Rent!!! Somehow he scrapes by...
Amy's turn. Card Reads: "Buy safe solar filters for all your optics: For each scope Shed pay $25, For each Observatory pay $100."
"NOOOO!!!!" (Remember... ALL of my properties are developed to the MAX possible!)
The elusive card... no one ever owned the whole game! Looks like we'll have to play again!

(In the end...Amy won...though not until after several mortgages!)

Happy Birthday

Here's the only picture I have of my birthday party...that I can put up currently. The rest have our daughter in it too! :)

Andrew's parents invited us over for dinner. It was delicious! grapefruit/avocado green garden salad, marinated steak, German fried potatoes, broccoli and blueberry cream pie.

I invited my family over for cake and ice cream. I made a German Triple Chocolate Cake and my parents brought the ice cream, your choice of Truffle Cherry Chocolate, Neapolitan or Cougar Craze. Afterward we played games: Ticket to Ride, Phase 10, etc.

It was definitely not a low calorie day...

Happy Birthday
